I love burgers. I love them all. I can enjoy a burger from a fast food chain as much as I will enjoy one that claims to be gourmet. It’s an addiction that I’m not unhappy about. However, for some reason I don’t make them at home very often. This was about to change as Mediterranean Delicacies dropped of some of their delicious mature Gouda and I knew exactly what I would be making for lunch that day. I wanted a burger that had plenty of oozing cheese and a lot of mushrooms to go with it: a Cheeseburger with mushrooms, onions and a home-made ranch dressing! The burger is ready within 15 minutes and everything is very simple to prepare. Quick, easy and delicious: Pure bliss!
Ingredients
- 700g ground beef chuck
- 3 tablespoons grated onion
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Mature Gouda from Mediterranean Delicacies
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 500g white mushrooms, sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1/3 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 2-3 tablespoons buttermilk
- finely chopped dill, parsley, chives and thyme
- 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 clove garlic, grated
- 4 hamburger rolls
Instructions
- Add the vegetable oil to a hot pan and add the beef patties. Let them cook for about 8-10 minutes. During the last two minutes, add the cheese on top of the patties!
- Meanwhile, melt the butter in another large pan. Add the mushrooms and cook for 12 minutes. At the end, add the onion, season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Now deglaze the pan with the beef broth and remove it from the heat.
- To make the Ranch Dressing get a small bowl and combine the sour cream, buttermilk, herbs, lemon juice, hot sauce and garlic. Also add salt and pepper to taste.
- Put the cheeseburgers on a roll, top with mushrooms onions and the dressing. Add the top bun.
- Eat. No knife and fork needed!
