The Village Idiot opened in May 2015 with the vision to create a neighbourhood hangout and meeting spot that offers great food and drinks in a relaxing atmosphere where fun is never too far away.

The large balcony is the host to many spit-braais in the summer and offers lovely views of busy city streets. The big fireplace keeps everyone warm during those cold or rainy nights in winter. Pool tables, board games and other playful surprises cater for additional entertainment.
While The Village Idiot has a big pub-like feeling, they offer great food as well embracing South African cuisine to its fullest. Visitors can expect dishes such as braai boards, freshly baked roosterkoek, hot peri-peri chicken, boerewors burgers, biltong and cheese platters, potjies and appetising sides like pap, grilled mielies, potato salad, chips and more.
