We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to Cape Town’s ‘Finer Dining’ Restaurant, La Mouette. Celebrated London Chef Henry Vigar, former head chef of Kensington Place in Notting Hill London and South African entrepreneurs Gerrit Bruwer , Mari Vermaak and Nanette van der Walt have teamed up to open Cape Town’s newest finer diningrestaurant in Sea Point.
La Mouette is situated in 78 Regent Road Sea Point and housed in a grand Tudor-style house. Its’ menu offers patrons modern French cuisine with a distinctly Mediterranean influence complimented by top South African wines.
Chef Henry has worked in a number of Michelin starred establishments in the UK, Australia and France and brings to La Mouette a wealth of experience. He is committed to using only local suppliers for his ingredients and personally inspects and samples everything himself to ensure absolute quality. Henry has a particular passion for creating unique desserts and his signature after dinner delight is the ‘Gin and tonic’ – a combination of tonic jelly, juniper berry syrup and lime zest ice cream.
The building housing La Mouette has been lovingly restored keeping many of the original and unique features as possible. With its 6 fireplaces, 4 dining rooms, magnificent cobblestoned courtyard and Koi-filled fountain it is elegant, spacious and has a 100 person seating capacity inside and 70 person outside.
