What are your plans for Freedom Day?
The Cape Quarter Lifestyle Village boasts of all things eclectic, creative and free: from retail stores to tend to all your fast-paced living needs – whether it be groceries, outdoor activity, clothing or simply grabbing a great coffee – a gym to keep fit and healthy and fabulous eateries encircling a sun-filled courtyard, overlooked by trendy apartments.
This Freedom Day, 27 April, the Cape Quarter will be celebrating what it means to be free. They have a jam-packed day planned to meet all the creativity threatening to burst out! Plus all the restaurants will be open all day.
Here’s what you can expect this Saturday:
- Breakdancer outside Baraka: 10:30-11:00 and 13:00-13:20
- Roaming juggler: 10:30-11:00 and 12:00-12:30
- Balloon artist in the Square: 10:00-11:00
- Henna artist outside Baraka and then in the Square: 11:00-12:00/12:00-13:00
- Chris Werge performing in the Square (expect Indie Folk/Ed Sheeran loop pedal vibes): 11:00-13:00
- An African hand-washing ceremony: 11:00-13:00
- Roaming violinist: 9:30-10:00/13:30-14:00
- Roaming tap-dancer: 10:00-10:30/13:15/13:45
- Bhongoletu Maholwana will be showing how he paints on denim from 9:00-14:00!
- The lovely Rosanne Clark will be drawing in the Square.
- DJ Pumpdaddy will be pumping the tune outside Baraka all day and there will be a ballet dancer posing in and around the centre in various clothes and accessories. That should be a sight to see!
