Cape Town’s iconic Gin and Tonic Festival was back for another year of artisanal food, local music, salivating garnishes and the very best of global and local gins.
Taking place at Woodstock’s Old Biscuit Mill, Hendrick’s Gin welcomed festival goers to its peculiar tea garden themed stand where bartenders with top hats enticed festival goers to celebrate the summer season with a gloriously unusual gin and tonic in hand.
For the first time all three versions of Hendrick’s Gin were available for tasting, with each glass of gin perfectly paired with the freshest and finest garnishes to compliment its botanicals and excite your taste buds.
While sitting in the giant floral tea cup, posing with the flocking pink flamingos all the Hendrick’s connoisseurs enjoyed a series of Hendrick’s cocktails.
For a new experience, festival goers enjoyed the Hendricks Limited Edition Midsummer Solstice cocktail, with its glorious bouquet of floral notes garnished with orange and mint.
Why not try out Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice Sprits? It’s best served in a wine glass full of cubed Ice with:
- 50ml Hendrick’s Midsummer Solstice
- 50ml sparkling wine
- 150ml tonic water
- Cucumber ribbon and a slice of orange as garnish
To everyone’s excitement, the newly released Hendrick’s Orbium was available to taste for the first time in South Africa. Hendrick’s Orbium has the same distillates as Hendrick’s but it is what Hendrick’s might taste like in a parallel universe, with classic gin libation, it contains quinine, wormwood and blue lotus blossom.
The festival was a perfect combination of a unique generation of gin lovers and tantalising gin and tonic. Hendrick’s Gin’s unusual approach to the gin making as well as celebration captured each and every festival goer’s imagination and marked the experience as unforgettable.
