Set in the stunning surroundings of Hazendal Wine Estate, this Valentine’s Dinner is more than just a meal—it’s an experience. From the carefully curated menu to the exceptional wine pairings, every detail has been thoughtfully designed to create a romantic and memorable evening.
- The evening begins with a touch of elegance—Saldanha Bay oysters paired with Hazendal’s Blanc de Noir Cap Classique 2021. This sparkling wine sets the tone for a night of sophistication and romance. Guests will then be treated to a selection of artisanal breads, including ancient grain seed loaf and honey and sesame pretzel, served with coffee whipped brown butter for a unique and indulgent start.
- The first course, Weskus’ Ceviche, is a refreshing and vibrant dish that perfectly complements the Hazendal Semillon Sauvignon Blanc 2019. Next, the Kuku Paka—a fragrant dish of basmati rice, coconut, and ginger—pairs beautifully with the Hazendal Chardonnay 2019, offering a harmonious blend of flavours.
- For the main course, the Springbok with fermented corn dumpling and Jollof is a standout, served alongside the bold and rich Hazendal Syrah 2018. This dish is a celebration of South African heritage and culinary innovation.
- The meal takes a delightful turn with the Goat’s Cheese Foam and fire-roasted beetroot, accompanied by honeycomb and walnut. This course is a perfect balance of creamy, earthy, and sweet flavours.
- As the evening progresses, the Blanc de Noir sorbet with strawberry and rose offers a refreshing palate cleanser, leading into the decadent dessert—Lemon Balm Meringue. Paired with Hazendal’s Straw Wine, this sweet finale is a true celebration of love and indulgence.
- The experience concludes with white chocolate Amarula apricot fudge, served alongside a selection of TWG tea or coffee, allowing guests to linger and savour the moment.
