Mrs. Pola Georgoulas has been in the catering and hospitality business in Greece and Botswana for the past 40 years. She has been the proud owner of the first 2 Greek restaurants in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana.
She catered for most of the embassy events in Botswana and did special events catering for the government and also exclusive private dinners and functions.
The highlights of her career were catering for former President Bill Clinton during his visit to Botswana US embassy. She has also been involved with institutional catering and has had numerous catering contracts throughout her career including the cafeteria for Debeers Debswana head office Gaborone.
Her passion however lies in the kitchen, in preparing mouth watering meals, and sharing the love of food. She represents the true Greek culture of sitting around the table with friends and family and sharing a beautiful meal.
When joining the Ginger & Lime Cooking class on the 23rd of February, your menu will include Greek specialities like:
- Melitzanosalata (an eggplant dip accompanied with pita bread)
- Spanakopita (Greek spinach pies)
- Moussaka (a brinjal, potato and mince Greek casserole topped in a bechamel sauce)
- Home- made traditional baklava
