With Cap Classique being the most ideal wine to enjoy at that special meal known as brunch, the wine farm where the first Cap Classique was made will be offering a brunch with a difference on Saturdays. Beginning on 6 May, visitors can book a unique experience that includes a guided tour to the cellar where the magic process of making Cap Classique occurs.
The morning begins at 09:00 with coffee and rusks, followed by a video presentation on Simonsig Cap Classique. Then it is off to the cellar for a guided tour & tasting, including a chance to experience disgorging, one of the unique processes in the making of Cap Classique.
Brunch follows atCuvée and here guests can tuck into a hearty brunch prepared by Chef Stephanie de Wet and the staff of the Cuvée Restaurant. The fare includes home-made brioche French toast, crispy bacon, cheese, fresh fruit, yoghurt and boerewors with Kaapse Vonkel mustard as well as fruit juice and – of course – Kaapse Vonkel Cap Classique.
Space is limited to 30 persons and the experience costs R300 a head, which includes a bottle of Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel to take home with you.
