Nederburg Wines invites you to its annual Harvest at Dusk Festival at the farm in Paarl, on Saturday, 16 February 2019.
Participate in the fun of picking and stomping grapes, learn from the experts about how the wine grape harvest is progressing, and kick back and relax while feasting on freshly-prepared fare matched with award-winning wines, while listening to the sweet sounds of popular South African musician, Mathew Gold.
Start with a glass of Nederburg’s refreshing Cuvée Brut on arrival, served with a surprise snack. You will then be shown a selection of different grape varieties and given the chance to taste the fresh grape must before it becomes wine.
As the sun sets, get your hands dirty by picking some fully ripened grapes in the vineyards. Then join in the pleasure of stomping grapes and fully immerse yourself in this traditional way of making wine.
When the hard work is done, relax with live music by Cape Town-born singer-songwriter, Mathew Gold, who is fast becoming a household name in the South African music scene.
Chef Lisa Cilliers of The Red Table restaurant, situated in Nederburg’s historic manor house, will be serving up a bountiful harvest feast of family-style table platters, laden with delicious mezze to whet your appetite; farm-fresh salads and vegetables to accompany delicious slow-roasted meat; as well as ‘korrelkonfyt’ and peach upside down cake served with vanilla ice cream for dessert.
A wide selection of Nederburg wines will be available for purchase, as will soft drinks, mineral waters, coffees and teas. Guests are advised to wear hats, sunscreen, comfortable clothing and shoes.
