The 41 was established by two French restaurateurs seeking to make a name for themselves in the iconic Cape Town foodie scene. Life is always better with a bit of je ne sais quoi.
The 41 is going back to their roots with a Vintage Affair Champagne and Cognac pairing dinner on Saturday, 12 October at 18:30. Moet & Chandon and Henessey ambassadors are partnering with executive chef, Wesley Peters, to deliver a 4-course experience.
Guests will taste 2 Moet & Chandon vintages, 2008 and 2009, and here’s what you can expect from the evening:
Sweet and sour champagne poached prawn, cayenne pineapple mango salsa, passion fruit
Kudu carpaccio, imperial dressed rocket, brule d’oranges
Five-spiced sesame crusted duck breast, vanilla sweet potato and parsnip puree, dark chocolate oil, honey shatter
Moist chocolate espresso brownie, XO sabayon, dusted ice-cream
The cost of this experience is R595 per guest, including the 4-course dinner and 3 glasses of Moet & Chandon champagne.
