Bread at The Bromwell in Cape Town’s trendy Woodstock precinct hosts Christmas in July from 20 to 25 July.
Harlan Millar is quoted as once saying ‘I wish we could put up some of that Christmas spirit in jars and open a jar of it every month’. We’ve adopted this sentiment and created a rich shopping and dining experience to chase away the winter cold. – Ivan Da Silva, Manager.
What’s on the menu?
On offer is a delectable three-course feast that kicks off with a savoury Christmas treat and glass of bubbly upon arrival. For starters, diners can choose between smoked split pea soup with sour cream, chives and herb-infused oil, or an ox tongue and feta ravioli with roasted garlic puree, parsley foam and red wine broth.
Mains is a choice of pork belly croquette with pomme puree and pineapple sauce, or pan-seared linefish with corn puree, vanilla and ginger emulsion, stem broccoli and baby carrots or braised cream barley with vegetable parmesan crisps and semi-dried tomatoes, served as a vegetarian option or with Oxtail.
“For dessert, we’re offering eggnog soufflé, or our own style of bread-and-butter pudding. We round off the total experience with homemade mince pies paired with our famous selection of luxury teas from Singapore. There’s also a wine-pairing option for diners who really want to get into the spirit of the season!”
Diners are also invited to head upstairs to the boutique where an opulent shopping experience awaits. Top local fashion, art and design pieces are on offer to delight, dazzle and remind them that the spirit of the season is all about giving!
“We’ve extended operating hours beyond 5pm to 10pm between Wednesday 22 and Saturday 25 July so that everyone seeking Christmas in July has a chance to experience it at The Bromwell. We’ll also have a special live Christmas jazz session on Saturday the 25th, so don’t miss it!”
The Christmas in July menu is on offer from Monday 20 July to Saturday 25 July. The cost is R220 per person or R450 per person if you want to add wine pairing.
