Building off of the success of The Taproom Salt River, Cape Town based craft producer Devil’s Peak Brewing Company is opening The Taproom Epping, an inviting brewpub and restaurant at their brand new brewing facility in Epping on 9 October, 2017. After several years of producing world-class beer at the foot of their namesake, the brewery has moved to a 6500 square metre space in the heart of the industrial epicenter of the city. This new space allows fans to experience the Devil’s Peak brand, beers and brewing in a way that was never before possible.
The Taproom at Epping is a warm, welcoming pub and restaurant with views of the new Afrofunk sour facility, the largest barrel aging program in the country, and a full complement of the latest and most innovative beers from Devil’s Peak and friends.
Visitors can expect classic favourites such as the famous Taproom cheeseburger and scrumptious bar snacks alongside an exciting menu of locally sourced, beer-inspired meals. Breakfast, lunch and after work drinks will be on offer Monday to Wednesday from 8AM to 6PM, while hours will be extended to 10pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays to include dinner service. In-house board rooms are also available to be booked out for the perfect business meeting location.
Perhaps the most exciting element of this new brewpub is the dynamic beer lineup, featuring unfiltered King’s Blockhouse IPA, international brews, limited releases and several rotating taps over eight draught lines. With access to the freshest experimental batches and barrel-aged beers, visitors can expect a wide variety of delicious new options every time they visit. Patrons are more than welcome to bring their own wine at no additional cost.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the inner workings of the Devil’s Peak Brewery with full brewery tours. Conducted twice a day at noon and 2pm, these tours will explain the entire production process – from water treatment, hop selection and malt profiles – all the way to packaging, offering an unprecedented insight into one of South Africa’s most innovative and respected craft breweries.
