Celebrate Martini Day this June 19th with a local twist on a classic!
No gin cocktail is more iconic than the Martini, made famous by the likes of James Bond and Sir Winston Churchill. Shaken or stirred there isn’t much of a difference, unless you’re trying to look cool. Spotting a classic Martini is easy, the clarity and two olives are the giveaway in this spirit forward cocktail.
Here’s one with a bit of a homegrown twist and easy to mix!
Cape Town Gin Martini.
- 50ml Cape Town Classic Dry Gin
- 25ml dry vermouth
- 1 green olive or lemon rind
- Ice
PREPARATION
Chill a martini glass with ice. Add all ingredients into a stirring beaker with ice and stir for 20 seconds. Remove the ice from the martini glass and strain the beaker into the chilled glass. Garnish with a green olive or lemon rind. Et voilà!
What’s more is that June is National Men’s Health Month and the Cape Town Gin and Spirits Company is proud to be involved as a supporter of the Men’s Foundation, collaborating by contributing a portion of every bottle of Cape Town Classic Dry Gin sold to the NGO.
