One Tequila, Two Tequila, Three Tequila, Angostura

Our friend in the yellow cap, ANGOSTURA© aromatic bitters, is in a league of its own when it comes to balancing the flavours of mixed drinks and is a key ingredient in some of the best cocktails the world over.

If you’ve been to a restaurant or cocktail bar recently, you might have noticed just how many cocktails include ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters on their crafty cocktail menus.

It’s a favourite ingredient amongst bartenders – like salt is to chefs – because it adds a depth of flavour like no other with its herbaceous nature.

Shake up your next shot or two of tequila with this Tequila Sours recipe:

Ingredients

  • 60ml Tequila
  • 30ml fresh lime juice
  • 15ml agave syrup
  • 1 egg white
  • 3 dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters
  • Ice
  • Lemon slice, for garnish

Method

  1. Add all ingredients except the bitters to a shaker.
  2. Dry shake without ice for 15 seconds.
  3. Add ice, shake and double strain into a rocks glass,
  4. then garnish with a few dashes of ANGOSTURA® aromatic bitters and a slice of lemon.

And tada just like that you’re a mixologist!
