So we all know that there’s been some hype in the news about the campaign to make cannabis legal in South Africa. It was discovered quite some time ago that cannabis has amazing medicinal properties and is also high in protein and has subsequently been labelled a Superfood. We’ve seen a rise in health products with hemp seeds or hemp powder on the ingredients list and now we’re seeing the country’s first cannabis pizza from Col’Cacchio! It will be available from selected Col’Cacchio stores from 25 June 2019, excluding the Windhoek and Halal restaurants.
And since CBD oil is now legally available for purchase, Col’Cacchio has teamed up with africanpure, SA’s leading CBD brand to launch this innovative range of pizzas. Since the pizza brand was the first to introduce gluten-free, low calorie, Banting and carb-conscious pizza bases and vegan offerings, is it any wonder they’ve now turned their attention to this wonder food?
There will be two gourmet, cannabis-inspired pizza offerings – the Green Goddess and the Not-So-Plain-Mary-Jane. The pizzas will each be drizzled with CBD oil, which contains no THC or synthetic chemicals and will have not make you high. Each pizza will cost R125 and R140 respectively and there is an option to add CBD oil to any other Col’Cacchio dish for an additional charge of R25.
