Afternoon Tea at One&Only Cape Town has always been a year-round, supremely decadent affair and now themed Afternoon Teas are available on the first Saturday of each month as well as a new offering of Morning Tea has been added to the mix on weekends.
At One&Only Cape Town, in the Vista Lounge, the classic custom of Afternoon Tea is observed daily, albeit in a thoroughly modern manner. The resort’s master patissier Kyle Hickman and his team work tirelessly to create a series of inspired sweet and savoury spoils that change with the seasons and which reflect local flavours and celebratory days. Kyle combines a love for old school classics with a passion for new and interesting flavour marriages and the result is a beautiful Afternoon Tea buffet table dressed in a myriad mouth-watering edible offerings and decorative details.
From koeksisters and mini milk tarts to homemade marshmallows and passion fruit flavoured macaroons, there is a cornucopia of delicately flavoured and prepared offerings waiting to be enjoyed. Of course there are always savoury surprises too – from homemade sausage rolls enveloped in puff pastry to perfectly prepared sandwiches cut into equally perfect triangles.
Always one step ahead of the culinary curve, Kyle and his team are among the first in the city to be sharing the latest pastry trend – the gourmet éclair.

Available from 9am to 12pm for R195 per person, it’s an excellent and oh-so-stylish way to while away a few hours with friends and family.
