Experience a world of superior wines with Fleur du Cap at Die Bergkelder, the historic cellar in the mountain cut deep into the slopes of the Papegaaiberg on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Offering an interactive winelands encounter steeped in the history of South African wine, visitors can pick and choose between a host of activities from cellar tours and tastings to a unique Fleur du Cap Wine & Salt pairing. A stroll through the Wine Museum offers wine lovers a snapshot of the country’s wine history spanning over 300 years.
Crafted to allow the full expression of the grapes from select vineyard sites in the Western Cape, these are wines of finesse and great complexity with abundant fruit and flavour showing their true varietal character. The team responsible for these acclaimed wines include Cellarmaster Andrea Freeborough, Red Winemaker Wim Truter and Winemaker Pieter Badenhorst who is responsible for the white wine portfolio. They work side by side with Viticulturist Bennie Liebenberg who ensures that only the best grapes from some of the Western Cape’s finest vineyards makes the journey to Die Bergkelder before they have the privilege to wear the Fleur du Cap label.
In addition to an impressive wine selection, the Fine Wine Shop at Die Bergkelder also stocks the range of Fleur du Cap exotic salts. The cellar’s knowledgeable staff provide specialist wine advice and will happily arrange exclusive Fleur du Cap and Artisanal Salt dinners on special request.
