Grande Provence Wine and Dine Collab Dinner 25 September

Spring is in the air! It’s that time of year where we all have the daily struggle of figuring out whether or not Cape Town is going to give us some sunshine, or if the day is going to turn miserable. But the miserable days are definitely getting fewer and fewer. To celebrate spring, Grande Provence is showcasing exceptional white blends for the Spring Wine & Dine Collaboration dinner on Friday, 25 September.

Grande Provence’s own winemaker, Karl Lambour, will be joined by the winemakers from Strandveld Vineyards, De Morgenzon and Tokara. While Executive Chef Darren Badenhorst’s menu will pair perfectly (like only Chef Darren knows how) to make the wines truly come to life.

The dinner takes place at The Restaurant at Grande Provence, starting at 7pm on 25 September.. To book at R525 per person, call 021 876 8600 or e-mail restaurant@grandeprovence.co.za. You can also get your hands on a mixed case of 12 wines from the participating wineries at a special rate on the evening. Ooh la la.

Rillette of confit pork and duck, served with wine jelly disc, grape texture, apple tartare and a kataifi quails egg.

De Morgenzon Maestro White 2014

Sous-vide saddle of rabbit with crisp pancetta, griddled langoustine, cauliflower crème, black garlic and charred corn.

Grande Provence White 2014

Butter-poached Scandinavian halibut with potato and crab net, coconut curry velouté and imperial heritage caviar.

Spiced honey bavarois, with rose and wild apple, burnt hazelnut meringue, vanilla crumble and wild flowers.
