RAG Met is project that combines aspects of 2 of RAG’s previous events, the Fashion Show and RAG Races, which was a project that was revived in 2014. This event promises to be absolutely outstanding, by improving from 2014’s production of these events.
This event aims to be the most stylish and elegant events out of the variety of RAG events, by utilising the underlying commonalities in the stylish objectives of the 2 events into this new project. It is a day filled with horse racing, entertainment and exciting new experiences similar to what is seen in the Durban July and the J&B Met, except simply for UCT students.
In amongst the various events, the programme integrates the Fashion Show, which showcases well known designer’s work, such as Gavin Rajah and Craig Port who were involved in 2014’s Fashion Show. The event starts at 13:00 and runs into the evening until approximately, 20:00.
Activities and entertainment will include the racing throughout the afternoon as well as top DJ’s and bands. Food stalls will be on site but you are more than welcome to bring your own picnic basket. The theme for the day will be Moulin Rouge and students will be encouraged to dress according to the theme as prizes will be offered in this regard.
This year, Stellenbosch University students have been invited and shall attend the event. Friendly intervarsity competitions and activities will be offered.
