Mouth-Watering Christmas Lunch at Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery

While Vadas Smokehouse & Bakery might be famous for its slow-and-low roasted meats, it’s a potent all-rounder, as its mouth-watering Christmas lunch proves.

The extensive set menu takes inspiration from a diverse array of cuisines from around the world. Starters include smoked gammon boerenkaas croquettes, trout ceviche and fresh-baked sourdough with pesto.

Highlights from the mains are smoked baby chicken with spiced orange and honey sauce, baby back ribs and smoked lamb shoulder; veggies get star treatment in the red pepper panzanella salad with goat cheese and the grilled pumpkin salad amongst other dishes. The range of yummy desserts includes a pavlova with cream and berries, mince pies and, of course, Vadas’s famous pasteis de nata. A specially-adapted (and just as delicious!) vegetarian menu caters to diners who don’t eat meat.

Lunch costs R695 per person (for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian menus) and R250 per child between the ages of 5 and 12.
