Obz Café has been an iconic landmark of Observatory for the past twenty years.
Now under new ownership, the recently refurbished Obz Café has a New York feel, restaurant décor is upmarket, yet relaxed. Exposed brick work adds to the ambience, while friendly wait staff and a terrific vibe all make for a great dining experience. For those preferring to dine al fresco, there is also sidewalk seating – where you can get the true sense of the bohemian suburb.
The menu is uncomplicated and caters to all tastes. Especially popular are the Peri peri Chicken, Sirloin Steak and Grilled Calamari. The Porcini Mushroom pasta is also highly recommended, as well as the Springbok Carpaccio starter, bursting with all kinds of delicious flavours. Our thin crust pizzas are very popular and some have them ‘the best in town!’ Wheat and gluten free pastas and pizzas are also available.
It’s the perfect spot for a casual business lunch or dinner, birthday party, romantic dinner or long boozy lunch. A place to cater for all seasons, the wood burning pizza oven ensures it’s always warm and cosy during winter, and air conditioning units, as well as fully opening front windows, keep it cool in the summer.
With free Wi-Fi, Obz Café is the perfect place to set up for a day of working, with friendly waiters that will see to your every need.
With a good selection of craft beers on tap, a fantastic cocktail menu and some of the best milkshakes in town, there is no need for anyone to go thirsty at Obz Café!
