Outlandish & Delicious New Cocktails at Cause | Effect

Cause Effect, the boundary pushing, experimental cocktail bar in Gardens, has released a new menu of fun drinks to excite.

Not your ordinary cocktail menu, the drinks on offer vary from simple concoctions inspired by local fynbos to extravagant creations that could only be termed cocktail art.

The new menu mixes things up in a big way with new additions that include the Membrane, made up of Hendricks Gin, Mint, Caraway, Absinthe, Cucumber, Green Tea, Aqua Faba and Artemisia Bitters, served in a flying saucer-type bowl with a green layer you have to break through with your straw to sip what lies beneath, which is thankfully a refreshing, tasty little drink.

Playing with the idea of how the vessel from which you drink influences the experience, they’ve gotten seriously inventive with how their drinks are served. The Cape Sugar Bird, made up of Ouda Molen Xo, Fynbos Honey, Pear, Imohepho, Absinth and Oak Witbits is something special. As is Richie, the Rainbow Sparkle Unicorn, served in a unicorn cup and finished off with candy floss ‘hair’.

The range of intriguing cocktails is substantial, and with some ambiguous names, ordering is a bit of fun usually resulting in a unique drink being placed before you. Join Cause Effect this week for a delectable cocktail masterpiece from their new menu, a drink that will both surprise and delight.
