Executive Chef Tronette Dippenaar says her food philosophy is ‘fresh is best’ and she is pulling out all the stops for Restaurant Week. ‘My menu is uncomplicated and unpretentious, and my dishes are full of flavour. I stay true to South African cuisine, which I like to present with a modern twist.’
The Restaurant Week menu showcases some of the restaurant’s most loved dishes, starting with an Amuse Bouche of a delectable Cheese Soufflé with shaved Parmesan and a gin cheese sauce. This iconic dish features on the menus of each of the three hotels within The Liz McGrath Collection – the recipe said to have been invented by the late Mrs McGrath herself.
The 4-course Restaurant Week Lunch Menu (R350pp) has a choice of two options per course, ranging from Yellow Fin Tuna Sashimi and Wild Mushroom or Broccoli & Crispy Bacon Potato Gnocchi, to Elgin Free Range Chicken Breast or Pressed Lamb Shoulder. Vegetarian options are available too. A choice of White Chocolate & Berry Mille-Feuille or Lime Panna Cotta ends an unforgettable dining experience in a tranquil garden setting on a sweet note. The dinner menu is a 5-course culinary affair (R450pp) and includes an Apple & Fennel Sorbet.
