They say good things take time—just like fine wine and, apparently, top-tier estate renovations.
Alto Wine Estate is gearing up for a stunning transformation, with a full renovation of its cellar, tasting room, and restaurant over the next three years.
While change is brewing (or rather, aging gracefully in oak barrels), wine lovers need not panic—the good times (and great wine) will continue at a temporary yet equally delightful new spot.
- From mid-2025, Alto will be pouring its signature wines and serving up delicious dishes at Klein Alto, a pop-up location nestled at their sister property, Bontehoek (formerly Bilton Wines)—just a short hop, skip, and a swirl away. Think of it as Alto’s stylish summer home, where the vino flows just as smoothly and the hospitality remains top-notch.
What’s Staying the Same?
Despite the grand renovations, Alto’s beloved experiences will remain untouched—much like their perfectly balanced Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine tastings? Check. Delicious food? Absolutely. Sunset Rouge evenings? Oh yes, they’re here to stay! Guests can look forward to a new winter menu, which promises to be as comforting as a well-aged Shiraz on a chilly evening.
