SARIE KOS delights food-lovers with English edition

At last! The best of SARIE’S multi-award-winning food magazine, SARIE KOS, has hit the shelf as SARIE FOOD for all food-loving English-speaking South Africans.

Since the launch of SARIE KOS in 2007 English-speaking readers have never stopped asking for the magazine in their home language”, says Michélle van Breda, SARIE’s editor. “We simply couldn’t ignore these requests anymore!

The special edition SARIE FOOD, The Best of SARIE KOS, is a collection of 119 SARIE KOS favourites which has been carefully selected by the well-known food editor, Barbara Joubert. The recipes, chosen from the first issue of SARIE KOS until the last issue in 2012 and translated into English, have a strong, proudly South African flavour and all conform to Barbara’s belief that food puts a happy smile on faces, and that if you love it, you cook it!

Readers can look forward to a feast of mouth-watering food photography and recipes divided into four categories: Food for Sharing, Weekday Delights, Double Delights and Health Kick.  Braaibroodjies and bobotie, waterblommetjie bredie and snoek pie, as well as home-baked bread and sticky toffee pudding all contribute to the SARIE FOOD magic. Readers are also given step-by-step guidelines on how to do perfectly roasted potatoes, knead bread and make delightful ice cream biscuits.

The new SARIE FOOD is another brand extension to support the 360 degree SARIE world, which includes SARIE, SARIE KOS, SARIE BRUID, SARIE WOON, SARIE kreatief, SARIE Sjokolade (another new brand extension expected with the 2013 June edition of SARIE), and the SARIE website, www.sarie.com, which includes SARIE’S online shop.

SARIE FOOD 2013 will be available from 29 April 2013 on selected store shelves nationwide at R39, 90. The Afrikaans 2013 issues of SARIE KOS will be on shelf on 29 May, 31 July, 2 October, 27 November and 29 January.
