Smokin’ Wok has its roots firmly in Thailand.
After spending a year and a half half working (as a chef), traveling and generally eating my way around the Thailand, the owner of Smokin’ Wok was hooked. His eyes had been opened to the nuances and intricacies of the food which blew his mind.

Capetonians have long loved the flavours of the East. Many a great curry or bowl of ramen is to be had at one of the innumerable Asian eateries across the city. After returning from Thailand however Simon discovered that he had a new found perspective and realised that the South East Asian fare found in the city oft bared little resemblance to the original.
Much of South East Asian cuisine had drifted from its roots and into culinary no-mans land.
