The Wellness Warehouse Group has added to Wembley Square’s healthy lifestyle offering, with the addition of the uberstylish and uberhealthy Wellness Café, on the ground floor of the trendy Cape Town shopping and office precinct.
I was invited to the launch of the Wellness Café last week where journalists, bloggers and influencers were hosted to a casual lunch buffet. The buffet table had a big selection of salads available while Cajun linefish, lasagne, quiches and other dishes were available as well. The cafe sources its ingredients locally and seasonal foods are often preferred whenever possible. It also supports the growing trend of plant-based diets, organic eating and the quest for wholefoods and superfoods which quickly becomes apparent when looking at the menu.

The menu adds a gourmet touch to healthy eating, and the Wellness chefs prepare a feast for the wholesome daily lunch buffet that includes a range of soups, hot foods and salads. Being close to the Wembley Virgin Active, the Wellness Cafe puts fitness on the menu with the post-workout protein smoothies and superfood brownies. Otherwise customers can indulge themselves over organic coffee with a muffin, raw cacao cookies, mini-carrot cakes or squares of melt-in-your mouth vegan Tahini fudge.
Besides being wonderfully good for you, the Café is a pleasure to relax in. The fresh, white décor blends seamlessly into Wembley’s contemporary design.
