Right Turn Ahead for the Urban Brandy Cocktail Route at HQ
Looking for something different to do? Make a stop on the Urban Brandy Cocktail Route (UBCR) on 4 February at the sublime, the sophisticated, HQ on Heritage Square.
Taking place on the Wednesday evening from 7pm, the event will be held in the Cigar Lounge of the famed Cape Town restaurant and bar. The theme at HQ—always elegant, yet contemporary— is ‘Vintage Jazz’ for the night, so come dressed to impress for a night full of swagger, cutting-edge brandy cocktails; and canapés crafted by the creative chefs. Don’t forget your dancing shoes; expect live entertainment from well-respected George Sax.
Being heralded as ‘the ultimate cocktail route’, the UBCR started with the concept of the expansion of the R62 and the Western Cape Brandy route into the urban scene. The objective of UBCR is to introduce the consumer to brandy in the form of cocktails and as a sipping drink—and not just the stereotypical, brandy and Coke. Cocktail lovers can now follow a map set forward by the UBCR to beautiful venues across the country (32 in total) to try a different array of drinks made with the classic South African spirit.

And now, UBCR has landed at HQ—home of the urban sophisticate. On the launch night guests will be treated to four innovative brandy cocktails. This will include an interesting talk on brandy tasting, the concept of the route as well as food pairing advice—deliciously demonstrated with the aforementioned canapés.
