Visit Terra Del Capo Antipasti Bar at Anthonij Rupert Estate this winter for a carefully curated menu of quintessential Italian dishes.
Anthonij Rupert Estate’s Antipasti Bar, situated below their tasting room which was designed to showcase the company’s Italian-inspired Terra del Capo range, is perfect for a lunch of expertly prepared bites.
This winter Chef HW and his team will continue to hero local ingredients, with the introduction of a Baby Vegetable Crudité, using vegetables grown in the L’Ormarins gardens, served with garlicky anchoïade. Fresh Ceviche prepared from local Franschhoek Trout, dressed with honey, lime and ginger will also feature.
With local produce always celebrated, some ingredients have been sourced from Italy for their superb quality: Genuine Italian artichokes, truffles and Taleggio cheese are this season’s exquisite imports. Signature favourites from previous menus have been incorporated into their winter offering; crisp fried Calamari (with a zesty new Parsley and Lemon Pesto twist) and crunchy Whitebait with tangy Aioli will still be available. Chef HW Pieterse’s hearty, homemade Salsiccia sausages accompanied by ‘Cannellini Al Fiasco’ – a traditional Italian bean stew, will make a comeback too.
The menu also includes the welcome addition of a less traditional Antipasti dish, a mini lasagne! This dish, a little indulgence Chef HW felt needed a spot on the menu, pairs perfectly with the estate’s Terra del Capo Sangiovese,
The Terra del Capo Antipasti Bar is open from Tuesday to Sunday (lunches only) and, as the estate operates on a ‘By Appointment Only’ basis, pre-booking is essential.
