Beluga is pulling out all the stops to help South Africans celebrate Heritage Day in style with their “Local is Lekker” lunch special.
From September 21st to 24th, the popular restaurant invites you to indulge in a two-course feast for just R290.00, complete with an added treat — 10% off any Pinotage.
Because, let’s face it, what’s more South African than savoring local flavors with a glass of homegrown Pinotage?
Heritage Day is all about embracing the cultural diversity of South Africa, and Beluga has curated a menu that celebrates the nation’s culinary richness, often referred to as “rainbow cuisine” for its fusion of African, European, and Asian influences. On the menu, you’ll find:
- A Whole Crayfish: Whether steamed or grilled, this delicacy comes with rustic chips or fragrant pilaf rice.
- Pap & Vleis: A South African staple, this dish features a tender 200g rib-eye steak, compound butter, and the much-loved pap and chakalaka.
- Skaapie Kerrie: Braised lamb in a traditional curry sauce, served with pilaf rice, a homemade roti, and sambals.
For dessert, the iconic Mal for Malva puts a rooibos twist on the traditional malva pudding, and the indulgent Ballie Shake delivers a Dom Pedro with a double shot of Amarula, making for the perfect end to a truly local meal.
Available from 11h00 to 16h00 over the Heritage Day weekend, this special won’t last long, so get ready to feast! And to top it all off, Beluga encourages diners to show off their South African spirit by dressing in their best heritage attire — a wonderful way to share in the pride and joy of the occasion.
