The De Grendel tasting room and lounge has arguably the best views in Cape Town. Overlook the vineyards and the mountain while exciting your palate with chardonnay, shiraz, viognier, merlot and more of their award-winning wines. Their executive chef also whips up culinary delights to enjoy with your wine. Here’s what you can expect on the menu for R195 per person:
FIRST SELECTION
Fior de latte mozzarella piquant, romarin, oreganum, huiled’olive

SECOND SELECTION
Smoked mackerel pâté, crème fraiche, la cavetti

Shitake, shimeji, thyme, citrus, truffle, St Sebastian from Malgas

King Oscar brisling sardines, maldon, black pepper

Served with freshly baked, Three Spades Cider-infused corn bread, melba toast, assorted crackers, olives and beef biltong.
The tasting room is usually open until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 4pm on Sunday, but for a special event on 26 July, De Grendel is extending their hours until 7pm! They’ll be serving wine by the bottle from 4:30pm. And of course, their delicious gourmet selection will be available until 7pm too.
