Monkey Shoulder is shaking things up in Cape Town!
Last week they unveiled an impressive new mural by the talented Justin Catto at the Radisson RED, V&A Waterfront.

Justin Catto, the visionary behind this piece, shared his insights on the project. “I conceptualised and designed this piece, working closely with the client and adhering to Radisson’s corporate identity guidelines. My goal was to create a design that represents both brands harmoniously.”
Catto’s collaboration with Monkey Shoulder extends over the past few months, with installations in various bars and live painting performances at brand events. He appreciates the artistic freedom Monkey Shoulder provides, allowing him to bring fresh and innovative ideas to life. “Their branding and ideas are always fresh and innovative, making them a fantastic partner,” he said.
The mural’s highlight is the headdress of the lady depicted in the artwork. Catto explained, “I love the headdress of the lady depicted in this piece because it embodies South African beauty and creative culture, celebrating the unique aesthetic and rich traditions of the region.”
Installation of the mural is being handled by Murray Cowen, a trusted collaborator of Catto. “Murray and I have collaborated on several projects in the past. His presence in Cape Town and his ability to execute designs creatively and with high quality made him the perfect partner for this installation,” Catto remarked. He trusts Cowen’s craftsmanship and creative vision to bring this piece to life.
