On a road trip through the Karoo, they journeyed from their home in Joostenberg Vlakte to their family farm in Fraserburg. What made their ride extraordinary was their choice of bikes:
- Ockert rode a 1964 Honda C77 Dream (305cc).
- His sons rode 1980 Honda CD200 Roadmasters.

As Ockert says, “We all sometimes miss the point of bike riding, which is having an adventure and a blast all at the same time. Riding old bikes and small bikes has an amazing appeal of its own.”
