Looking for an awesome dinner partyappetizer? How about a ‘Bloody Mary Oyster Shooter’ It’s a popular shooter at The Lookout Deck Hout Bay, and their chef has been kind enough to share his recipe with us.
BLOODY MARY OYSTER SHOOTER
Recipe – Serves 6
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon Horseradish
- ½ Teaspoon Tabasco Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon White Wine Vinegar
- 1 Tablespoon Worcestshire Sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Tomato Sauce
- ½ Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Can Tomato Juice 200ml
- 6 Shots Absolut Vodka
- Table Celery (for garnish)
- Black Pepper (for garnish)
- 6 Medium Cultivated Oysters on the Half Shell
Method
Mix all the sauce ingredients well together, place in refrigerator for at least an hour. Remove oyster from the shell, set aside until needed.
Serve
Place one oyster (without the shell) into a shooter glass, add one shot of Absolut Vodka, and top up glass with premixed cocktail sauce. Garnish with table celery leaf and stem, and crushed black pepper.
