If your idea of a good time includes perfectly plated dishes, unexpected flavor pairings, and the kind of culinary creativity that makes you pause mid-bite—then mark your calendar for Friday, 2 May 2025.
1000 Hills Chef School is rolling out the red carpet (okay, more like white tablecloths) for a Gourmet Evening that promises to be anything but ordinary.
For just R595 per person, guests will be treated to a multi-course menu created and executed by the next generation of kitchen talent—the school’s very own student chefs.
These aren’t your average culinary students. These are future head chefs, plating up refined, creative dishes that could easily grace the menu of any high-end restaurant.
Here’s a taste of what’s on the menu:
-
Line Fish – served escabeche-style with seasonal veg (light, zesty, and a little bit fancy)
-
Chicken Thigh – elevated with parmesan mousse, beetroot, cauliflower and herb oil
-
Duck Confit – paired with smoked coffee and vanilla (yes, vanilla!), rich butternut and a glossy jus
-
Nut Granola – reimagined with yoghurt and lacto-fermented fruit (because why not?)
-
Danish Pastry – filled with spiced apple and silky custard, aka happiness on a plate
It’s the kind of meal that makes you want to slow down, sip something special, and maybe clap between courses (no judgment here). The setting? Tucked into the scenic hills, 1000 Hills Chef School offers the perfect backdrop for an indulgent evening—surrounded by fellow food lovers and the buzz of a kitchen coming to life.
