Restaurant Week is back with these Durban restaurant specials!

It’s the time of the year, where upmarket restaurants across the country will offer their menu at reduced prices either for lunch or dinner. Seats have to be pre-booked in advance through the Restaurant Week online portal.

Under the new vision of Marco Conte and the continued influence of its original founders, Marcelle and Sean Roberts, Cafe 1999 reinvents itself with an elevated menu and a fresh, dynamic energy. Expect expertly crafted sharing plates, signature ‘titbits,’ and contemporary main courses infused with bold flavours and locally sourced ingredients. hoisin sauce, carrot, cucumber and spring onion
Ginger and Yoghurt Grilled Chicken Skewers and Soy and Ginger Grilled Beef Skewers
with peanut satay and pickled ginger salad
Burrata (V)
marinated tomato salad, capers and basil oil

OPTION 1: The Carnivore’s Table:
Lemon and Rosemary Roast Free Range Chicken
heirloom carrots, cauliflower puree
Sliced Char-Grilled Beef Fillet
bone marrow jus, Chimicurri sauce, pickled onion petals
Spinach and Parmesan risotto

All three dishes are served on the table to share between two guests

OPTION 2: The Vibrant Vegetarian Spread:
Harissa Roasted Cauliflower (V)
with yoghurt and tahini dressing, green olive cheeks and Romesco sauce
Curried Coconut Lentils (V)
with baby spinach
Breyani Style Rice
raiita and carrot pickle

All three dishes are served on the table to share between two guests
