The 41 was founded by two dashing French restaurateurs who, after establishing successful businesses in Singapore, Laos and Australia, found themselves so impressed by the food scene in South Africa that they decided to put down some roots in Cape Town. They serve a tasty blend of local and Mediterranean dishes and sushi, with their signature dish being grilled ostrich steak with chakalaka salsa, phutu pap and atchaar yoghurt. Atchaar yoghurt? Yes!
And now they’re changing things up with Free Bill Sundays. Head down to the terrace between 12pm and 3pm and eat to your heart’s content – it may be free! Your bill will be entered into a draw to receive your meals on the house.
The restaurant is usually jam-packed so make a reservation now to ensure a spot in the draw. Food tastes better when it’s free!
