Supper Lounge are happy to announce their next event on the 19th of January 2013:
Mother’s Kitchen – prepared by Tarryn
Mother’s Kitchen is a Supper Club honouring our mother’s and grandmother’s food – Mother’s Kitchen brings the Taste of Home to the Supper table and allows you to share it with others.
The idea is simple: every new Mother’s Kitchen Supper will be prepared by another chef – it can be a professional chef or a private hobby chef… it’s basically for anyone who would like to bring the memories of mother’s food back to the Supper table and share them with other foodies.
Join Tarryn on her memory lane with her ancestor’s Italian & South African food: a truly one of a kind 5 course menu that is going to indulge your taste buds for sure. The Supper will be served in a private house in Camps Bay with breathtaking sea views – so ensure to arrive in time for a sundowner on the terrace.
Please bring your own drinks & inform us upfront about any food allergies or vegetarian options 🙂

Palate Cleanser
Italian Limoncello
If you have ever been to Italy, you`ll instantly know about Limoncello. Lemons seem to be one of the important staples in the food of Sorento. The most famous product is Limoncello. Every store or restaurant has it`s unique or favourite brand of Limoncello – for sale or to taste. It is wonderful as a palate cleanser or as an after Supper drink. Limoncello is the generic name of an Italian citrus based lemon liquor that is served well chilled in the summer months.
Main Course
Tomato Bredie
Bredie is an old Cape name for a dish of meat and vegetables stewed together so that the flavours intermingle.
Dessert
Melk tart with ice cream & berries
This is the traditional Dutch way and it`s worth making it the “old fashioned” way.
