One of Cape Town’s favourite Chefs, Seelan Sundoo, is taking his culinary expertise back to basics by introducing a fresh new four-course tasting menu for lunch at his V&A Waterfront restaurant, Seelan, as well as an elegant six-course tasting menu for dinner guests.

The inspiration for the four-course lunchtime tasting menu follows Chef Seelan’s philosophy of letting simple, exceptional ingredients shine. This tasting menu allows for the day’s freshest produce to guide him in creating four unique taste-experiences that are sure to delight lunchtime guests.
The tasting menu, available during lunch at R200-R250 a person, will change daily, depending on which seasonal ingredients inspire Sundoo on any particular day – ensuring that the tasting experience is always fresh and authentic.
An example of what guests can expect would be: Tomato and Buffalo Mozzarella with purple basil to start, followed by Asian Style Salmon Carpaccio, then a Russian salad with Tiger prawn and caviar, ending with flash-poached silver fish with roasted artichoke, pine nuts and roasted tomatoes.
“My aim is to serve lunch guests a flavorful, unique meal which is light but comforting and satisfying. I have taken great care to ensure that each dish stands alone as a delicious creation while still complementing the other dishes to create a complete and balanced culinary experience. I can’t wait to welcome guests to Seelan for this wonderful lunch,” says Seelan Sundoo.
For dinner guests, Chef Seelan is planning a more formal six course tasting menu at R500 per person, including a wine and champagne pairing, which is set to be a unique and refreshing dining experience nestled in the vibrant harbor-side scenery of the V&A Waterfront.
